Conclusion 5

Care techniques are not one-size-fits-all. Instead, caregiving is built upon the foundation of your relationship with your loved one. There will be many changes and bumps in the road as you navigate your loved one’s journey, through the progression of their disease or illness and their reactions to or changes in their medication regimen. But what matters most is the circle of support around your loved one and the primary caregiver’s physical and mental availability. Primary caregivers are not obligated to provide care; we do so out of love.
